ST. LOUIS (Neth.) – Blauw striker Robert Thomas is out week to week with an upper body injury that the team sustained late in its 9-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Friday night, as national coach Craig Berube announced for Saturday night's rematch with Minnesota.
Thomas missed with a broken thumb six weeks earlier this season. The 21-year-old has a goal and seven assists, two of which came in Friday night's victory in 21 games this year.
With Thomas out, winger Mike Hoffman will retire from the line-up for the first time since Monday. Hoffman, 31, was a healthy scratch for two consecutive games and three of the Blues' last six. The veteran forward, who signed with The Blues shortly before the shortened 56-game season, has nine goals and 12 assists in 36 games this season.
